Bruce A. Eagleson, age 73, died Tuesday July 17, 2018 at his residence in LaGrange, IN.  He was born on September 8, 1944 in Sturgis, MI to Donovan and Erma (Spear) Eagleson.  He married Julie Notestine at Mongo Methodist Church on July 26, 1963.  He worked for motor wheel for 8 years before opening Eagleson’s house of furniture until 1981.  He owned and operated the Jiffy Carwash from 1983-1995 in LaGrange, IN.  He then worked for Lower insulation from 1995-2001 after that worked for Mastercraft for 3 years.  In 1992, he was approved for his paten on the “Quick-Up” Deer Stand.  He was a former member of the LaGrange Town of LaGrange board, past president of the LaGrange Retail Merchants, Jaycees, Charter member of the Moose where he went through all the chairs, including Governor, Charter member of the Eagles lodge, Charter member of the NE Indiana Coon Hunters Association and a charter member UAW 871.  He also started the LaGrange Youth Baseball League.  He was an avid fisherman and hunter.  He enjoyed traveling and seeing the big mountains, especially the McKinley Mountains.  He is survived by his wife Julie, 2 daughters – Roberta (Eagleson) Knox of Granger, IN and Rita Eagleson of Phoenix, AZ.  2 brothers – Jack Eagleson and Jane Smith of LaGrange, IN and Scott Eagleson of Brushy Prairie, IN.  1 sister – Shirley & Stan Kneller of Florida.  5 grandchildren - Hannah Eagleson, Emma Eagleson, Heather Knox, Kevin Knox and Brogan Knox.  1 great- grandchild – Michael.  Several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents and 1 son – Rodney Eagleson on May 9, 2016.  Visitation will be held at Carney-Frost Funeral Home on July 24, 2018 from 4-8 P.M..  Funeral services will be held at the Funeral Home on July 25, 2018 at 2:00 P.M. with Ed Weirrick officiating.  Per Bruce’s wishes cremation will take place after the service.  Online condolences may be sent at www.carneyfrostfuneralhome.com.  Memorials may be given to Parkview Hospice.  Carney-Frost Funeral is handling the arrangements.
