Al J Halferty

Al J. Halferty, age 65, of LaGrange, IN passed away on Monday December 23, 2019 at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne, IN.  He was born on February 18, 1954 in LaGrange, IN to Franklin & Roxanne (Gorbutt) Halferty.  He married Penny Griffin.  She survives.  Al was a truck driver and owned and operated his own trucking company.  He was a member of Abate.  He enjoyed working on vehicles, motorcycles and guns.  He is survived by his wife, 4 sons – Larry Halferty of Centerville, MI, Gary Halferty of Sturgis, MI, Jason & Tracy Halferty at Howe, IN and Sam & Vonda Glasscoe of Sturgis, MI.  1 daughter – Julie & Rodney Daler of LaGrange, IN.  8 sisters – Barbara Halferty, Beverly Hoff, Nancy Draiggo, Linda Reitz, Michelle Halferty, Patricia & Dave Parker, Peggy Davis and Elaine & Larry Lipscomb.  4 brothers – Alan Halferty, Dwayne Halferty, Curtis Halferty and Gary Gorbutt.  12 grandkids and 10 great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 son – Al Jay Halferty and 1 brother – Larry Gorbutt.  According to his wishes cremation will take place.  On-line condolences may be sent at www.carneyfrostfuneralhome.com.  Carney-Frost Funeral Home, LaGrange, IN is handling the arrangements.
